Official Records Contacts

This is a private reference site, not a government office. It cannot verify custody, release a person, post bond, or obtain an official booking record. Contact the public office that owns the record for those services.

Van Wert County does not use one all-purpose records database. The Sheriff’s app is the published current-inmate route, while the Sheriff’s Records Section handles existing adult county booking records and requests for a releasable booking photograph. The facility can address current local-custody questions. Court portals answer later case questions, and a city incident report belongs with the relevant police department.

This route is for city police reports, not a county-jail booking record. The reviewed City sources did not publish a copy fee or turnaround.

For a concise explanation of the custody and records-request sequence, start with the county records guide. State-prison information belongs with the ODRC Offender Search; federal and immigration custody use the official BOP or ICE locators rather than a county office.
